  • After a few months, another firmware version is out!

Being a patchlevel release it sports a number of fixes.

Before getting to the highlights, there is one thing to mention first.

Based on repeated requests from customers, we have decided to change the archive format for firmware files from tar to zip. The content of the archive file stays the same.

A few highlight points from 6.2.3 (as always, you are welcome to check out the Release notes):

    • Several fixes for WiFi.
    • Fix for restoring default settings when a UM changing a default setting is ...

  • New version of firmware for our routers is available on Engineering Portal.

This is a maintenance release, it contains mainly fixes.

We fixed a number of things in this release. That said, at this time the 6.2.1 is released as update only like the 6.2.0. Which means that the default FW version for manufacturing stays on 6.1.10 at the moment.

As usual, 6.2.1 brings a line of fixes and improvements on board. Just to point out some:

    • Added support of kernel inotify to enable monitoring of filesystem events.
    • Traffic counters were increased to ...

  • Tired of waiting for 6.2.0 release? Well, the wait is over!

The Conel OS 6.2.0 is available for download.

Please note that the new version 6.2.0 sports a number of major changes, the biggest of them all being the new Linux kernel - 4.14.138.

The kernel change is significant and while we have done quite a number of tests, we decided to use the cautious release approach - the same we did for 6.0.0.

What does it mean? It means that the 6.2.0 is released as an update only version. In other words, you ...

  • New version of firmware for our routers is available on Engineering Portal.

This is a maintenance release and we expect it to be the last in the 6.1.x FW line.

All of our routers (without exceptions requiring operator's certification) are produced with 6.1.10 from today. Other models will continue once the certification is done.

As usual, 6.1.10 brings a line of fixes and improvements on board. Just to point out some:

    • Brute-force login attack blocking mechanism.

    Security Advisory - SACK vulnerability

Written by Jan Otte on Thursday 20 June 2019 in the category Default with the tags .

  • Be the first to comment
  • This security advisory is a reaction on the recently discovered network vulnerabilities in Linux kernel (see below on particular names and links).

These vulnerabilities can, under certain circumstances, be used by an attacker against a range of our routers running current firmware (6.1.9) with the potential result of the router rebooting.

We have already prepared a patch which closes the vulnerabilities. The patch will be included in future firmware versions (6.1.10, 6.2.0) when these are released.

Until the new firmware versions are available, you may apply any of the recommended workaround. The easiest ...

  • Be the first to comment
  • New version of firmware for our routers is available on Engineering Portal.

Except the SR305 and SL302 which are destined for NAM market and thus a firmware change is a subject of certification, the 6.1.9 is the default firmware for majority of router models. The NAM market models mentioned above can obtain the firmware via manual upgrade from EP if needed. Details of default FW versions can be found in the Firmware Distribution overview document.

It for sure contains usual load of fixes and security updates, but next to that, there are a few ...
